WORST HOSTEL - STAY AWAY

This hostel has pretended I did not stay after I complained to Booking.com so here is my review of this disgusting, dirty hostel. I was going to give the hostel a 2 or 3 star review as it was extremely dirty (bedding seemed unwashed, shower was grim, dark and dingy room) and felt very unsafe, being a solo female traveller, as the room did not have a lock, but it was a good location (although it was in a run-down area, it was near to the main square), helpful staff and cheap price. I have changed my mind as I came back on my second-to-last day to find everything had been taken off my bed, all of my clothes and towel had been thrown into dirty pile, my face washcloth was USED TO CLEAN THE BATHROOM - ironically, I don’t think that toilet was EVER cleaned (there is a disposable razor handle and toilet paper been jammed into the seat from the day I came so let me know if it’s still there!). The excuse was that they thought I checked out but why would I leave all of my belongings? The staff were helpful but it cannot win back my trust so I am leaving a day early. This may have been the worst thing that happened but it wasn’t the only horrific thing. On my first night, I was kept awake by loud people on the terrace but this was finally corrected at 1am by staff after I messaged. The second night I was also rudely awoken at 3am by other guests who came in talking loudly (obviously the staff could have told them to keep quiet) and kept the light on (none of the bedside lights work). The third night I felt so unsafe as I had come back to someone else having slept in my bed (the covers were pulled back and there was a used tissue next to my pillow). So the last night was really a nail in the coffin. I am leaving a day earlier than planned which is a shame as Istanbul has been a vibrant city with a great culture - I have spent £200 on a plane ticket to get away from this absolute dump of a hostel. I am disgusted - STAY AWAY!! Do not be fooled by the cheap price.

It is a very filty and old hostel. Bugs and beatles are everywhere. Unfortunatelly I booked for four days and even do they refused to cancel my original reservation I decise to go the second day for a better place. I lost my money but they lost a customer!

There are heaps of hotel in Taksim, choose a different one. The room was damp and dirty, the bedding wasn't very clean and neither were the towels. The bathroom had limescale and general dirt all over. The hostel is advertised as vegan with breakfast included, however no mention of breakfast and the restaurant area was generally slept in by the night receptionist. Booked via booking.com but the hostel 'cancelled' the stay and we were unable to leave a review. The stated time of check out is noon, we were advised it was 11am and then went for a cigarette at 10am and the receptionist said we needed to check out as it was 10am. I suppose for £10 a night you get what you pay for, but other hotels at the same price operate at a much higher standard, so you would be better off booking elsewhere.

This is where we started our three month travels we was here for new year only three days it was cold when out but still a nice place to visit, the hostel breakfast was not good so we always eat out but the coffee, rooms where basics but ok.

Room was really small with no proper space to put the bags. Bathroom really dirty and badly kept (lights not working, broken mirror, not enough toilet paper). They present the terrace as if it has a good view, but it doesn’t and the space isn’t even clean or nice at all. Breakfast is served from 9 to 11 which is really late considering that it only consists of tomato, cucumber, olives, boiled eggs, bread, tea and coffee. What really complicated things was that the staff doesn’t speak English so it was frustrating to get the right info. If there is no one that can’t speak English, it should be marketed only for locals.
